Who Wants to be a Millionaire

"A Solution to the War in Iraq," is being offered by a US Army intelligence officer on the Internet auction site eBay, lot 150141399174. "Cptnabil" has been identified as U.S. Army Capt. Thad Krasnesky, by the New York Post. The veteran of the Gulf War as well as the Iraq War, said he is selling his five-page plan on the Internet to raise awareness with the public after the military ignored his ideas. The bidding on eBay is now at US 99,999,999.00 - there was a US5 million dollar buyout.

"I speak the language and understand the culture, history, and religion, well enough to construct a fair, honorable and successful plan" ~ U.S. Army Capt. Thad Krasnesky

I suppose being a military officer, one who has supposedly seen the "horrors of war" and is now vehemently opposed to the way it is being fought, Capt. Thad Krasnesky and his supporters think that any critique or criticism of his new-found intuitive peacemaking abilities or his motives in short-circuiting his chain of command are completely "off limits". They're not.

Capt. Thad Krasnesky conceded that he only decided on the ebay auction after fruitlessly writing letters to public officials, military leaders and presidential candidates who all expressed no interest in his plan. Perhaps his plan wasn't that good after all or Capt. Thad Krasnesky doesn't seem to believe that the role of mediator requires much more than just an understanding of the "culture, history and religion".

Well excuse me for saying this, but with a five million dollar buy-out, the whole thing seems to be nothing more than a get rich scam reeking of Capt. Thad Krasnesky's own narcissism and self-importance rather than that of nobility.

U.S. Army Capt. Thad Krasnesky claims that all he is trying to do is get attention. Well, he got it, that and some pocket change at the expense of his dead comrades.

Perhaps Capt. Thad Krasnesky can redeem himself and consider sharing his newfound wealth with the families of those who willingly gave their lives so that he might enjoy his freedom.
