Believe me, the thought has crossed my mind.
But at the moment, Obama has still not been "elected" - he will only be "elected" on the 15th of December.
Further, the US Supreme Court in Court Docket No. 08A407 has scheduled for conference the issue of Obama's eligibility for office.
The conference is a completely private affair of the US Supreme Court and the public may not attend. If however four of the nine Justices vote to hear the case in full, oral argument may be scheduled. The conference is scheduled for December 5, 2008, ten days before the meeting of the Electoral College.
While I'm a bit worried, there are many ways his acts could lead to a backlash by 2016 when we need it even more urgently. I have the weird suspicion that if I time travelled a decade forward, I might find that he isn't thought of with anything like the adulation of today.
May be more of a bump on the road than the decline and fall of anything.
