Ignorance, Lies and a Failure or a Failure to Fact Check

It is becoming more and more frequent that I seem to run across columns written in many American newspapers that either fail to fact check or just deliberately print lies.

I ran across this recent column in the Boston Herald which makes the following claim

"On the first holiday, which marks the end of Ramadan, Rasheed’s faith requires that he eat the meat of cows, oxen, or camels. On the second holiday, which celebrates the pilgrimage to Mecca, he is required to eat specially slaughtered cattle."

The information printed as truth by the Boston Herald is simply false.

The reality is that Mr. Rasheed's faith makes no such requirement of him. If the above was actually true then you would not have any vegetarian muslims.
