Kansas City Capitulates

When will the never ending appeasement and political correctness end?

You know, now that I think about it, perhaps I should cry. Never in my life have I seen a more pathetic group of people completely hell-bent on the destruction of their own civilization. WND has the complete follow-up story on the so-called "foot basins".

Have we as a nation become so desirous of somehow breaching the cultural chasm that divides the Muslim world and the Western world that we would sacrifice our own convictions and ardent beliefs on the altar of political correctness?

For those of you in the United States suffering from a severe case of political correctness and who happen to be reading this, I'll speak in a language that you can hopefully understand.

First, the requisite politcially correct disclaimer: I am not a "bigot" or a "hateful" person so don't even go there. I happen to live in a Muslim majority country and have never in my life seen "foot basins" like this installed in the public toilets here. Never. The only place they exist here is in a mosque where they rightfully belong.

Like anyone, I believe that all Muslims should have a place to worship and perform their Islamic rituals and that is in a mosque not in a public toilet at an airport.

Above is a photo of the so-called "foot basins" installed in the restroom of the Kansas City Airport.

And here we see where Muslims perform their ritual of "wudu" inside of a mosque.

They look the same don't they? Thats because they are.

For more information on the Islamic ritual of "wudu" and how these so-called "foot basins" are used, you can click here and you will see photos from the from the inside of the Yemeni Mosque and Islamic Centre in Cardiff, Wales.

Despite the fact that Muslim cab drivers at the Kansas City Airport requested that the so-called "foot basins" be installed and then paid for their construction, Kansas City Aviation Department spokesman Joe McBride has the audacity to claim that these so-called "foot basins" and "wash benches" were not "built for the exclusive use of any ethnic group or culture."

I'm of the opinion however that technically Mr. Joe McBride is correct. They weren't built for the "exclusive use of any ethnic group or culture". They were built for the exclusive use of the adherents of the Islamic faith.

Mr. Joe McBride and the rest of his quisling friends might not realize it yet, but they are going to have quite a stir on their hands the minute some non-muslim decides to use these "foot basins" for a urinal.

KMBC-TV in Kansas City, Missouri is now claiming that the airport has debunked the Islamic footwashing myth. I don't think so.

We'll let you be the judge.

I just followed a link from Free Republic. After reading and thoroughly enjoying your posts, I want to say to you, "You speak my language" and "I like this guy"

As someone who truly loves America and all that it stands for, I have found myself looking at new places to follow my own dreams. Australia is popping up again and again. It appears they are at least taking a stand against the fanatics, but that may be because of the proximity to the problem.

In any event, I've added this site as a favorite and look forward to your upcoming posts. I also may ask more specific questions of a nature an expat as yourself would be more informed about.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

I'll try to be polite here, because it's always good to be polite, but I feel like just swearing at you.

    What are you thinking?
In Kansas, a group of (Muslim) taxpayers has decided that they would like a particular facility in a public space.

Instead of going to the government to "demand" it for free, they (according to you - I haven't read anything on this except your blog) pay for the constructrion of this facility themselves.

This is exemplary civil behavior. This is the kind of thing that makes the USA great. People with different beliefs, different demands, different ideas all contributing to public space in their own ways.

Apparently you don't want to wash your feet. That's fine. But why the hell would you want to deny another American the right to wash his feet *AT HIS OWN EXPENSE*?

I'm sorry, I can't do it without abuse. I don't know you, and I don't know what you're like. But on this topic, you're being an asshole.

  5. Dear Phil,

In the United States we have a little thing called "seperation of church and state"

You might recall an incident just last year with the Ten Commandments statue in the public domain.

What are you thoughts on that?

So, Phil, you wouldn't mind a group of Christians paying to put up a cross in an airport or, say, a chapel in a government building?

  9. To Ric C - yep, and founts for Holy Water too if it gets across the point that we have a separation of church and state. I have written several posts recently about Foot-washing stations - I say all you Shintos, Santareans, Pentacostals, Baptists, Catholics, hop on this and get your confessionals, baptismals, and snakes, et al. Converse on the airports and do your thing. We are equal, right? Or not?

A little link whoring - Conservative Beach Girl.

Great post and great links by the way.
