Obama and the Audacity of CNN

"That's the difference between talking about news and reporting it. You send a reporter, check the facts, and you decide at home."

Those are the words of CNN's Anderson Cooper described by Fox as the "Paris Hilton of television news". CNN would have you believe that they actually investigated this story and checked the facts in their reporting with their sophmoric attempt to debunk both Fox News and Insight Magazine.

On the ground in Jakarta, CNN's John Vause paints a rosy almost pristine picture of what Obama's past primary school in Indonesia is like, taking time to even note the Western-style clothes that the students are wearing as they play outside the school.

To an American viewer one might imagine that this school is close to being like any other school in school in America or the West, having a diverse and multicultural student body who enjoy religious freedom.

CNN's so-called debunking seems to be primarily focused on the statements of two individuals at the school, who are overly eager to paint a utopian picture specifically designed for foreign consumption of what their school is like now in what can best be described as nothing more than a fantasy for the misguided and naive proponents of multiculturism.

This hideously deceptive picture of what primary school is like in Indonesia leaves us wondering here if this entire "debunking" was actually staged or whether CNN simply has their own agenda and is not as impartial as they claim to be.

For anyone truly familiar with Indonesia, the following statement will give you a chill down your spine:

"This is a public school. We don't focus on religion," Hardi Priyono, deputy headmaster of the Basuki school, told Vause. "In our daily lives, we try to respect religion, but we don't give preferential treatment."

If CNN would have done their report on a Friday, they would have found that all of the students in this government school both muslim and non-muslim alike are all required to dress in Islamic clothing. It would seem that Mr. Hardi Priyono does not consider this to be preferential treatment.

Avoiding any high profile names of individuals or classmates of Obama's named in this blog or who have speaking to the Indonesian media for the last several months. CNN suddenly finds a previously unknown classmate of Obama's who claims that the school has hardly changed in the last 35 years.

"Vause also interviewed one of Obama's Basuki classmates, Bandug Winadijanto, who claims that not a lot has changed at the school since the two men were pupils."

Apparently neither Hardi Priyono or Bandug Winadijanto seemed to remember the Indonesian Constitution recently being amended in 2003.

"...MPR approved changes to the Constitution that mandated that the Government increase "faith and piety" in education. This decision, seen as a compromise to satisfy Islamist parties, set the scene for an education bill signed into law in 2003 that restricted religious freedom by forcing elementary and secondary school students to undergo religious instruction, sometimes in a religion other than their own..."

Besuki Primary School is not a madrassa (religious school), it is considered a public school, but if this is what a so called public school is like in Indonesia, it makes you almost wonder what an Indonesian madrassa is really like.

CNN's reporting which was devoid of any real investigation in this story was both misleading, deceptive and appallingly irresponsible. Not only did CNN fail to report the story honestly and accurately, they failed to present a clear and concise picture to the American people of what primary school education is like in Indonesia.

The repercussions from CNN's irresponsible and shoddy reporting have the potential to be far reaching. Both government and non-government agencies working in Indonesia who depend on foreign funds and have been working hard to convince Indonesia's political parties to have and ensure respect for religious freedom and to embrace further democratic reforms will now find it more dificult to raise donations and funds from a placated Western audience who now believe that Indonesia's reform is farther ahead than it actually is.

Ironically it is Indonesia's children who stand to suffer for CNN's irresponsible reporting and lack of journalistic integrity.

Edit:

The New York Times piles on both Fox and Insight in an editorial entitled "Feeding Frenzy For a Big Story Even If It's False"

To be fair, I have emailed both CNN and the New York Times outlining the points made here and the "Debunking of CNN's Debunk". Busy pursuing their own agenda, I don't expect a response.

Further, I enquired why no one had bothered to investigate what the school was like during the time Obama attended. Obviously that was really what relevant. Basically CNN denunked nothing.

American Ambassadors of Shame

Not unlike the Dixie Chicks and Jimmy Carter, John Kerry who was overseas in Davos, Switzerland took the opportunity to denigrate his own country and accuse the United States of being the world's pariah.

I've never been able to understand what exactly people like this hope to accomplish and I wonder if people like John Kerry take the time to think through what will be the consequences of their actions.

John Kerry like many of our nation's liberals and so-called progressives like to look down on their fellow Americans and accuse them of not being "worldly" enough and of "only seeing the world through an American lens".

Well, I am a "worldly" American who has spent a considerable amount of time overseas and I look down on John Kerry and the rest of his ilk. I look down on them because they don't hold dear the values and the freedom that I as an American hold dear in my heart.

On Christmas Eve of 2004 I wrote an post here entitled "America's Ambassadors or America's Shame". It was a post written solely from my heart and one based on my observations and my experience and as an American citizen living and working overseas.

It has now been almost twenty years that I have lived overseas and I can tell you that foreigners don't hate the United States and many of them believe it or not, don't hate President Bush. They don't hate us, they hate the policies and the principles that our nation's left seems determined to force upon not only us but the world.

A quote from Dinesh D'Souza hits the nail right on the head.

"...the policies that U.S. "progressives" promote around the world -- including abortion rights, contraception for teenagers and gay rights -- are viewed as an assault on traditional values by many cultures, and have contributed to the blowback of Islamic rage."

In the 1995 book Millenium, Felipe Fernandez-Armesto wrote the following:

"Western liberalism, enfeebled by it's own inconsistancies seems bound to be wishy-washed away by a new wave of facism. It will be hard for my children's generation to find courage to fight for the sort of imperfect humanity which is willing to abort innocent lives while sanctifying those of criminals, or which undermines it's own principles by banning moral absolutes as politically incorrect."

How do we as a nation, one that is supposed to stand for freedom and democracy, intend to lead a free world when we ourselves are no longer able to distinguish between right and wrong? Moral relativism does not represent freedom, it represents a "free for all".

Our nation seems to be pathetically embroiled in an endless 'orgy of political correctness' that has left us crippled. George Orwell would be rolling over in his grave to see the nightmare that we have become. Hate-speech, "tolerance and diversity training"? Have we a free people not heeded the dire warnings of our forefathers? Divided and consumed with apathy, our nation has elected a Congress that openly embraces socialism. Have we forgotten the evils of collectivism?

What do we show to the world when the liberals and progressives within our society promote policies that are proven to be destructive to civilization? If nations were people, the United States would be the Paris Hilton of the global community. It is hard for us to promote women's rights in the world when we broadcast obscene hiphop videos that denigrate women.

Forget about whether other nations like us or not, how can we expect anyone else to like us when we no longer love or respect ourselves? And who really cares if other nations like us or not? I care only that they respect us.

We have a long hard road ahead, we need to reflect on and promote worldwide the values and principles that once made our country great.

Ultimately, we must learn to respect ourselves before we can expect others to respect us.

Tracking Down Obama in Indonesia - Part 5

Begin translation

Barack Obama, the first black person who is currently considering a run for the United States presidential race in 2008, was remembered by the teachers and his friends at the Menteng Primary School, Jakarta, as the student who was left-handed and smart.
On a clear Friday morning, we were were welcomed by children's laughter at SDN 1 Menteng, Jakarta. The children aged from six years old were all wearing Muslim clothes. The boys were wearing the hat and baju koko and the girls were wearing a veil. Right? That the Islam school? No, that is the status of the all schools in the country since 1970. Each Friday, all the school childen must wear Muslim clothes and that also includes children who are non-muslim.

Not long afterwards, a child named Timothy spoke up. "I want to be like Obama (Barack Obama) ,” he said while laughing together with the other children.

Apparently, all of them have now come to know that the US presidential candidate for 2008 had once gone to this school in SDN 1 Menteng. Timothy delivered us to see Deputy Principal Akhmad Solikhin who was in his office. Akhmad was being visited by the United States Embassy staff. After having to wait for several hours, the party from the United States embassy left.

Akhmad said that since the news that Barack Obama had previously gone to this school in Jakarta, the world public seemed to be focused on this school that was previously named Carpentier Alting Stichting Nassau School. Including the US Embassy took part in attention. It is said, they want to give a big contribution to increase in the quality of the education in the school, the quality of the students, the teachers, as well as school facilities.

"For a long time we did not have any element of politics, we are always open" he said. Up until now this Primary School has established the same work as the Seameo Center-Bangkok, in fact the Homestay program in Australia ends February of this year. "We often sent the students and the teachers to Bangkok for the study" claims Akhmad.

[snip]

But, we managed to succeed in investigating his teacher who had held the office of the principal named Tine Hahiyary (1971-1989). "At that time, I was not Barry's teacher but he is still in my memory" claimed Tine, who is currently 80 years old. The teacher who taught him was named Hendri but he has died.
[snip]
Concerning the religion of the US senator, Akhmad Solikhin, the representative of the SDN head 1 Menteng, was not sure if Barry's religion was Islam. "He (Barry) indeed was registered as Islam, but he claims to be Christian" he said surprised. But, according to Tine the teacher, Barry actively took part in the Islamic religious lessons during his time at the school. His teacher was named Maimunah and she lived in the Puncak area, the Cianjur Regency. "I remembered that he had studied "menjaji" (recitation of the Quran)" Teni said.

Indonesia and Obama

Since Barack Obama's announcement that he would set up an exploratory commitee to weigh pursuing a Presidential run Indonesia and many Muslims around the world has been thrilled.

Indonesians see Obama as one of their own and many in Indonesia have high hopes that Obama will usher in a new era of peace and cooperation between Indonesia and the United States and more importantly that Obama will be instrumental in convincing Americans that they must adopt a new perspective towards Islam.

Since the so-called madrassa smear, the Indonesian media has been very supportive of Obama and has regurgitated much of what CNN and the mainstream media in the United States have had to say regarding Obama's education as a child in Indonesia oft times using Obama's own books as references.

It would seem right now that for Obama, the focus seems to be solely on his race and religion. No one seems interested in his politics, or policies. Indonesians are either unaware or seem completely oblivious to Obama's stance on issues such as partial-birth abortion and are for the most part seemingly uninterested in seeing the rest of his voting record.

Not only is Obama seen by Indonesians as a black man who is struggling against racial prejudices to become the first black president of the United States, he is still seen a Muslim.

For Indonesian's the facts are clear. Barack Obama was born a Muslim, he was given a Muslim name, he was registered as a Muslim in school and in the minds of many Indonesians has never personally denied that fact until now.

Considering the hopes and dreams of Indonesians, it is hard to say at this time what the Indonesian reaction will be to Barack Obama's apostasy and denial. Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country seems to be ever so slowly drifting towards a less extremist view towards apostasy as evidenced by the following letter published in the Washington Post last year by Indonesia's former President Kyai Haji Abdurrahman Wahid entitled "Extremism Isn't Islamic Law".

A virtuous man worthy of being the President of the United States would be more forthcoming with the American people and not deceptively try to hide from his Muslim heritage.

Hopefully the Indonesians and more importantly the Americans will look beyond Barack Obama's "race and religion" and judge Barack Obama solely by his character, his policies and interests that he represents.

Responding to Questions regarding Obama

An Indonesian reader has made several comments in the threads below, I have compiled the comments here for your reading pleasure.

"Your quote that Barry was "previously quite religious in Islam" is not found anywhere in the article."

Yes it is.

"Saat itu, dia memang beragama Islam..."

Translated in English means

"At that time, he was quite religious in Islam."

This is not the only report that stated that "Barry Soetoro" was quite religious in Islam (there are many others), Rony Amir who now works as a Bank Manager and was a classmate of Obama has also made the same exact claims to the Indonesian media.

"While he was six, in Indonesia, being the son of a Muslim stepfather, it was quite likely that his official registered religion would be Islam. This is why, as an Associated Press article pointed out, Senator Obama's religion in the school records as a child in Indonesia was Islam. There is nothing wrong with this."

No one is saying there is anything wrong with this.

However the Obama camp is now telling the American people that Obama was never a Muslim, and that is clearly a lie.

"Since Senator Obama registered as a Muslim, it is also likely that he attended the Islamic classes and was taught basic Islamic teachings, prayers, etc. Again, there is nothing wrong with this and this possibility should be openly acknowledged."

Yes, you are correct, Obama did in fact attend Islamic classes and he was taught basic Islamic teaching and laws. He also would have a big healthy indoctriation of Pancasilla.

And I agree with you, Obama should openly acknowledge this.

Perhaps photographs of Obama as a child dressed in a sarong and songkok performing his Friday prayers at the mosque would be more convincing and perhaps might help to persuade Barack Obama that he should be more forthcoming with the American people concerning his past.

"There is no way that Indonesian teachers at the school would teach six year old students to hate the west or hate people of other religions. Since he was only six, doubtless he has forgotten most, if not all, of the things that was taught in his religion class.

The facts are that Islam is not very tolerant of other religions.

"However, this experience would still be positive for him because it exposed him to a welcoming environment of Muslim kids who are his friends and classmates. This would allow him, on a personal basis, to be more tolerant and understanding toward Muslims around the world.

Yes, many Muslims including those in Indonesia do sincerely feel that Obama would be more sympathetic to the struggle of Muslims and their concerns around the world.

Obama Hoisted On His Own Petard

One would like to think that Barack Obama's advisors would have the common sense to tell him to be honest and forthcoming with the American people concerning his childhood growing up in Indonesia.

Instead and quite foolishly Obama has decided to go now on the offensive and deny any of the allegations he claims are made against him.

ABC news now reports that Obama will go on a campaign to debunk the madrassa claim allegations

And in debunking the madrassa claim allegations Obama once again lies to the American people and denies that he ever was a Muslim.

"Obama defended his education at "Sekolah Dasar Negeri 04," which roughly translates as government elementary school No. 4 in Indonesia, where he moved at the age of 6 after his mother married an Indonesian man. After two years at the government elementary school, Obama transferred to a Catholic school."

As we reported below, the truth is that Barack Hussein Obama aka "Barry Soetoro" first registered for school at the Franciscan Asisi Primary School on 1 January 1968. He then attended Asisi Primary School for 3 years before finally transfering to Besuki Primary School and then departing to the United States.

Obama didn't transfer to the Catholic school, the transfered from it.

"To be clear, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim and is a committed Christian," said Obama's communications director Robert Gibbs in a statement today...[sic]"

Obama's school registration records from Asisi Primary School in Indonesia list his religion as Islam.

Further, Several of Obama's classmates including Emirsyah Satar the CEO of Garuda Indonesia Airlines describe a young Obama as a very religious and devout Muslim.

On 22 January 2007, Emirsyah Satar stated:

"Saat itu, dia memang beragama Islam namun setelah menikah dengan Michelle, dia pindah agama."

The English translation is as follows:

"At that time, he was quite religious in Islam but after marrying Michelle, he changed his religion."

Other classmates of Obama have made similar claims to the Indonesian media, claiming that Obama was very religious and devout Muslim in his youth.

The issue at the moment, quite clearly is not whether or not he was raised as a Muslim or whether he attended a madrassa as a child. While it might be considered a handicap for a presidential candidate in a post 9/11 world, surely Americans would accept that he is now a Christian and no longer a Muslim.

The issue is and the only question Americans need to ask themselves is this:

Is Barack Hussein Obama being honest and forthright with the American people?

CNN Calls The Kettle Black

Watching the catfight between CNN, Fox, Insight and the New York Times with everyone dogpiling on Insight Magazine and then praising their own merits is almost enough to make someone ill.

Tracing the story and acting as the referee, the New York Times reports that CNN's political director Sam Feist had seen Insight's story being discussed on "Fox and Friends" and then decided to jet John Vause to Jakarta from Beijing to follow up on a "holy-cow political story"

The article then goes on to say:

"The president of CNN US, Jon Klein, said that his network’s report was “not a response to Fox per se, though they did seem to relish repeating the Insight-reported rumor without bothering to — or being able to — ascertain the facts.”

And now this is where it gets funny... Just what did CNN do to ascertain the facts?

CNN's so-called debunking in in itself a fluff piece with it's own factual inacuracies and appears in it's closing to be nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Obama camp.

CNN didn't bother to see the other school that Obama attended and if they would have they would have found out that the dates and much of the information Obama has provided is not completely factual.

For a source CNN interviews a youthful Bandug Winadijanto who claims to have been a classmate of Obama's and yet mysteriously he seems to have evaded giving any interviews to the Indonesian media for the last several months. It is almost as if he appeared out of nowhere just in time for John Vause's interview.

I find it surprising that CNN didn't talk to Obama's classmates Rony Amir or Emirsyah Satar the CEO of Garuda Indonesia who have been describing to the Indonesian media how Obama was a such a very religious and devout Muslim.

In closing the report quotes Obama as if to present it as fact:

"Obama has noted in his two books, "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope," that he spent two years in a Muslim school and another two years in a Catholic school while living in Indonesia from age 6 to 10."

So there you have it folks. No need to do any real investigative reporting of your own, just repeat what Obama has said and present it as fact.

Tracking Down Obama in Indonesia - Part 4

"After two years in a Muslim school, then two more in a Catholic school, Obama was sent by his mother back to her parents' home so that he could attend Hawaii's esteemed Punahou Academy..."

The truth is that Barack Hussein Obama aka "Barry Soetoro" first registered for school at the Franciscan Asisi Primary School on 1 January 1968. He then attended Asisi Primary School for 3 years before finally transfering to Besuki Primary School.

Unlike the Franciscan Asisi Primary School, Besuki would have at the time had compulsory religious classes.

We are still left with the question as to why Obama's mother would have sent her son to live in Hawaii. Surely anyone who has a child would find it hard to imagine how a mother could send her son overseas at such a young age to live with his grandparents.

"I was not raised in a particularly religious household, as undoubtedly many in the audience were. My father, who returned to Kenya when I was just two, was born Muslim but as an adult became an atheist. My mother, whose parents were non-practicing Baptists and Methodists, was probably one of the most spiritual and kindest people I've ever known, but grew up with a healthy skepticism of organized religion herself. As a consequence, so did I.”

Barack Hussein Obama - 28 June 2006

This story never seemed to make much sense, I always wondered why Ann Dunham would have remarried to another Muslim man from Indonesia after her first marriage to a Muslim from Kenya.

The evidence seems to show that both Ann Dunham and her husband Lolo Soetoro Mangunharjo were in act devout Muslims themselves and they raised their son as such.

To further support this, two of Obama's classmates in Indonesia at the time one who is now the CEO of Indonesia's national airline and the other a bank manager in Jakarta remember a very different Obama, a very religious 'Barry Soetoro', one that was well versed in Islam and liked to recite his prayers.

"Barry was previously quite religious in Islam. His birth father, Barack Hussein Obama was a Muslim economist from Kenya. Before marrying Ann Dunham, Hussein Obama was married to a woman from Kenya who had seven children. All the relatives of Barry's father were very devout Muslims"

"He was often in the prayer room wearing a 'sarong', at that time, he was quite religious in Islam but only after marrying Michelle, he changed his religion."

The comments by Garuda Indonesia's CEO perhaps can give a glimpse into the hearts and the desires of all Indonesians (especially those who knew him), and that is, that not only did he change his name from Barry Soetoro to a more Islamic name Barack Hussein Obama, but he remained a muslim all his life and that his later conversion to Christianity in 1992 was perhaps not sincere, that he only changed his religion only so that he could marry Michelle.

Rony extrapolates further that Obama at one point had to change his religion if he ever intended later to run for the office of President of the United States because America would never elect a muslim to the be President of the United States.

The issue here is not whether or not Obama and his family were devout Muslims, whether or not he attended a madrassa as a child. But why the deception concerning his past?

The more the evidence unfolds, the more the American people will see that Barack Obama has not been completely forthcoming with the American people.

Tracking Down Obama in Indonesia - Part 3

Above is a photo of Asisi Primary School in Jakarta, Indonesia the Catholic school that Barack Hussein Obama attended prior to attending Besuki Primary School.
Barack Hussein Obama was registered under the name "Barry Soetoro" serial number 203 and entered the Franciscan Asisi Primary School on 1 January 1968 and sat in class 1B.
School documents listed Barry Soetoro as an Indonesian citizen born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 4 August 1961. Barry's religion was listed as Islam. School documents further record Barry's father as "L Soetoro Ma" who worked as an official of the Director General's office in the TNI Topography division of the Indonesian Army.
Barry attended the Franciscan Asisi Primary School for three years until class 3 afterwards his family moved house from H Ramir Street to Dempo Street where he attended Besuki Primary School for one year before departing to Hawaii.
Classmate Rony Amir describes a young Barry Soetoro as enjoying playing football and marbles and of being a very devout Muslim.

"We previously often asked him to the prayer room close to the house." If he was wearing a sarong he looked funny , said Rony Amir, Barry's classmate when he lived on H Ramli street in Menteng, Jakarta."

Tracking Down Obama in Indonesia - Part 2

Above is a photo of Besuki Primary School in Menteng. Jakarta, Indonesia. This is where according to Indonesian reports, Obama first attended school when he lived on Dempo Street.

Besuki Primary School is a Public school in Jakarta, Indonesia, it is not a madrassa as reported by Insight Magazine in the subscriber-only article entitled "Hillary's Team has questions about Obama's Muslim background".

The article begins by asking the following question:

"Are the American people ready for an elected president who was educated in a madrassa as a young boy and has not been forthcoming about his Muslim heritage?"

The article then continues:

"This is the question Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s camp is asking about Senator Barack Obama."

Looking at the school, it is easy to see how someone could confuse it with a madrassa with it's domed roof and Islamic architecture, but SD Besuki is indeed a government primary school and not a madrassa.

That being said, a government primary school in Indonesia is not quite as secular as one in the west might imagine. In fact Islam plays a very important role in Indonesian schools and a foreigner might be surprised to find out that religious classes are compulsory for all Indonesian students.

All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school and a young "Barry Soetoro" being a Muslim would have been required to study Islam daily in school. He would have been taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam.

Obama Barack Hussein might not have attended an Indonesian madrassa, but evidence will show later that he has not been completely forthcoming on his Muslim heritage and upbringing.

Tracking Down Obama in Indonesia

Barack Hussein Obama the Senator from Illinois has formed an exploratory committee to explore a presidential bid. Obama has had a remarkable rise from lawmaker to politician in less than ten years appearing suddenly onto the political scene.
New on the scene, Obama remains a charismatic man of mystery, very little is known on him. His only remaining relative seems to be his half-sister Maya Kassandra Soetoro or as she is known now Maya Soetoro-Ng.
What is particulary intriguing though for many is that Obama has not been seen to have been forthcoming with his past with regards to the time he spent in Indonesia.
Either he wishes to forget his past or perhaps he has something to hide.
In any event, I have now spent over twenty years of my life here in Southeast Asia, am well versed with the culture and speak the language. With regards to Obama's Indonesian past, I now find myself intrigued to find out more about Obama and his life in Indonesia.

The House on Dempo Street Vanishes

Jakarta - More on the US story of the senator, Barack Obama, in Indonesia.

During this short period of time, Barack was believed to have lived in a house on Dempo Street near Amir Hamzah Park and the city center of Jakarta. However, currently the occupants of the house and the residents in this area have never heard of either Barack or Barry.

Tracking down the past of US senator in Indonesia is quite difficult, The only quite strong information detikcom was able to obtain was from a Onny Padmo, Barry's classmate in class 4 of Besuki primary school, Menteng, Jakarta near the city center around 1971.

Onny admitted to attending Barry's birthday party at his house at that time. Barry's house was supposedly on Dempo Street near Amir Hamzah Park. But, Onny didn't quite seem to remember the exact address. As you know, that was over 35 years ago.

Detikcom investigated the area, on Monday (3/7/2006). However, several residents who have lived in this area for quite a long time had never heard of the Barack name or Barry. They had also never heard of the Lolo Soetoro name, Ann Dunham, or Maya Kassandra Soetoro.

Lolo Soetoro was the husband of Ann and the stepfather of Barry. Ann was a US citizen and the mother of Barry. Whereas Maya was the stepbrother of Barry, the child of Ann and Lolo.

In fact, Barry together with his mother and his stepfather lived in Indonesia for quite a long time. Apparently Barry went to Primary School here for only one year in Primary 4, but the information from Maya Soetoro is that Barry had lived in Indonesia between the years of 1968-1973.

However, the exact location of Barry's house for 5 years remains unclear.

The only thing that is certain, according to Onny, is that "Barry" lived on Dempo Street.

"I had previously attended Barry's birthday party in the house, not far from Amir Hamzah Park", said Onny, Barry's school friend during 1971. It wasn't far from Amir Hamzah Park, said Onny, Barry's school friend from 1971. At the time, Dempo Street was still be worked on.
It was just off Amir Hamzah Park although not right in front. The road closer to the mosque at that time was quite famous.

One of the residents who had lived a long time in the Amir Hamzah Park area, Ari (aged 55), when being questioned by detikcom claimed to have never heard of a Barack, Obama or Barry. He had also never heard of a person named Lolo Soetoro.

"As I remember in the 1960's many Dutch lived near this area." If there was a Negroid child, I would have known, said Ari. Apart from Dutch though, in this area there also lived many decendents of the Dutch Ambonese.

Haji Mamiati, who had lived in the area since the 1950's also admitted to not knowing of an Ann Dunham, Lolo Soetoro or Barry.

He claimed that in the Amir Hamzah Park area, during the 1960's there were many foreigners.
Mamiati claimed thought that he had indeed seen a black negro child who had curly hair that live in No. 2 Dempo Street sometime around the 1970's.

However, he said the negroid child was claimed to have been from Papua.

"Indeed there was a negroid child, but they claimed that the child was from Irian." said Mamiati.

Could it be, that the negroid child mentioned by Mamiati was in fact "Barry"?

It is diffucult to say, the house on No. 2 Dempo Street existed only during the time of the Dutch. Now the place where the house supposedly stood houses a dentist and there are many other new houses in the area - Dempo has changed over the years.

Fiction Versus Reality

Once again the television show "24" is under attack from various Muslim groups including CAIR who claim that the show not only entertains, but vilifies an entire religious group in doing so.

Something I found interesting in the story was this fallacious statement:

“I think that TV has quite an effect on how people think,” said Nadeem Mazen, past president of the MIT Muslim Association. “So much of what we hear on Muslims is hearsay - an expert opinion by people with a personal agenda and not necessarily motivated by truth. And then a show like this comes along that perpetuates the ‘them’ factor.”

It is not a fictional television show that works to perpetuate this "us versus them" dichotomy but the harsh reality that Mr. Mazen and the rest of his ilk are unwilling to face up to.

If CAIR and the rest of these Muslim special interest groups were truly sincere in their professed mission then instead of monitoring the Kuffar's television, radio and print media why don't they simply pick up the phone and call their local Hamas, Hizbollah or Al Qaeda "community support" group and let them know that the continued terrorism, hatred and inciting of violence is giving Muslims a bad wrap in the media.

Once again the gauntlet is laid down and once again it will be ignored. Does anyone need anymore evidence to see that groups like CAIR work to conceal their true agenda?

"Useful Infidels"

For those of you unfamiliar with the Transportation Security Administration or rather the TSA, it is an executive agency that was formed after 9/11 as part of the Department of Homeland Security who's sole purpose is to protect American travellers.

Imagine the irony and the absolute horror to hear now that the 45,000 law enforcement and intelligence personnel of this executive agency are to receive "sensitivity training" from an organization with ties to terrorism.

CAIR is described on the TSA website as America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, what they don't tell you is that CAIR has a long history of ties to terrorism.

Now imagine if you can that the year is 1941 and members of the German-American Bund, along with German consular officials are being given a tour of our nation's airport and security facilities and then being allowed to give "sensitivity training" classes to our law enforcement and security officials all because Nazi Germans entering the United States are claiming to being 'unfairly singled out' and questioned with regards to their connections to the Nazi regime.

You can't can you? Neither can I.
