Broke at the Marketplace of Ideas

In all honesty, I had not even heard of the Dixie Chicks before they made a fool of themselves in London by spouting off in front of a foreign audience "Just so you know, we're ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas."

The Dixie Chicks like to call their little stunt "freedom of speech" when in reality it was nothing more than a misguided and naive attempt to betray the sensitivities of their own fans and attempt to empathize and connect with what they perceived as an anti-american and anti-Bush audience overseas. Needless to say, their stunt backfired. Instead of learning from their own mistakes, they continue to make a fool of themselves and blame their lack of popularity on censorship.

Sadly the Dixie Chicks might never understand that they have never been criticized for voicing their opinion ~ just how and the circumstances surrounding the way they chose to do it.

The Dixie Chicks like many other attention and publicity whores in America's entertainment industry transform into cold-blooded chameleons once they get outside of US territory ~ ready to "identify" with anyone as long as they can get a buck.

The Dixie Chicks are not victims, they are opportunistic idiots who are now bitter that nobody back home is buying their wares in the marketplace of ideas.

So now they have a movie coming out ~ and when it bombs at the box office I'm sure we are all going to listen to Chicks scream censorship again.

Rob Garcia like many other saw the Dixie Chicks for who they are ~ and commented on their website promoting their movie ~ only time will tell if the Dixie Chicks have any respect for Rob Garcia's freedom of speech and have the courage to respond to him.
